Trust Roles

Trust Members

Trust Members appoint Directors and approve any changes to the Company Articles. Our current Articles indicate Members are the Chair and Vice-Chair at Costessey Junior School and the Vice Chair at Costessey Infant School. Additionally there is a nomination from the SAIG of Filby Primary School and the current Executive Headteacher and CEO of the East Anglia Schools Trust is also a Member.

The attendance records of Members at Board and committee meetings is contained in our financial reports on this website.

Trust Trustees

Trust Trustees have a strategic role and delegate all but the key decisions to individual School Advisory and Improvement Groups ( SAIG ) who are accountable to the Trustees. The Trustees are accountable to the EFA and DfE. The Trustees, meeting once each school half term at least, delegate decision making and responsibility for tasks to individual SAIGs via Terms of Reference.  The SAIGs  must be held to account so the Trust uses Key Performance Indicators to do so. The Trustees are required under the rules of the EFA Financial Handbook to receive assurances from each school that controls are operating effectively and that risks are being managed.

The attendance records of Trustees at Board and committee meetings is also contained in our financial reports on this website.

School Advisory and Improvement Groups ( SAIG )

Concentrating in particular on the outcomes for pupils the SAIGs, operating through the Terms of Reference, assist in holding each school to account. SAIGs comprise staff members, parent members and community members and each is appointed by the Directors for the skills they will bring to that SAIG. SAIGs  are typically made up of approximately 9 volunteers to ensure efficient working practices. The membership of each SAIG is listed on the Our Schools page on this website.

Business and Pecuniary Interests

Members, Trustees and SAIG members are all required to complete business interest forms on an annual basis and disclose any interests at the commencement or appropriate point in any meeting. As at 01.09.2016 no personal disclosures were made.
